About Graphite
A crystalline form of the element carbon.

Graphite is a naturally occurring form of crystalline carbon. It is a native element mineral found in metamorphic and igneous rocks. Graphite is a mineral of extremes. It is extremely soft, cleaves with very light pressure, and has a very low specific gravity. In contrast, it is extremely resistant to heat and nearly inert in contact with almost any other material. These extreme properties give it a wide range of uses in metallurgy and manufacturing.
Graphite is also used in pencils, steel manufacturing, and electronics such as smartphones. Perhaps its most important application is the lithium-ion battery, where graphite ranks above even lithium as the key ingredient. There is actually more graphite than lithium in a lithium-ion battery.
Palm Oil Industry in Malaysia

-
The plantation area of oil palm in Malaysia reached 5.9 million hectares, mainly in the new plantation area in Peninsular Malaysia.
-
Sarawak remained as the largest oil palm planted state with 1.59 million hectares or 26.9% of Malaysian’s oil palm planting area, followed by Sabah with 1.54 million hectares or 26.1%.
-
The area of oil palm planted in Peninsular Malaysia is 2.77 million hectares or 46.9%.
-
In 2019 the total mature oil palm area was 5.22 million hectares, 88.5% of oil palm planting area.
-
The private estates accounted for 3.61million hectares or 61.1% of the total planted area. Followed by independent smallholders with 0.99 million hectares or 16.7% and the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) with 0.72 million hectares or 12.3%.

Palm based Graphite
Malaysia theoretically has a guaranteed supply of 1.65 million tons of artificial palm graphite. Therefore, the resource or supply of palm shell is the guarantee of sustainable green and recyclable regeneration for the extraction of graphite.

Graphite Application
Graphite
Graphene
-
Natural graphite is formed from carbon under high temperature and pressure and is a common mineral.
-
Artificial graphite is obtained by pyrolysis of petroleum needle coke or biomass needle coke at high temperature by catalyst to change its atomic functional groups.
-
It has unique electrical conductivity and mechanical properties, is metallic grey and opaque. Both natural graphite and artificial graphite can be understood to be composed of multiple layers of graphene.
-
Artificial graphite is widely used in various industries because of its properties.
